Each Glass Treasure by Bonnie Saunders begins as a clear glass plate and undergoes a complex, multi-step transformation. Bonnie’s meticulous process creates a striking crackle effect, which illuminates the badge or crest and symbolizes the strength and unity of the force it represents. From start to finish, these heirlooms are crafted by Bonnie herself, ensuring that every piece is as unique as the individuals it honours.

Framed in an 11" black solid wood shadow box lined with rich red ultra-suede, these plates are both elegant and meaningful.

Personalized Touches
Every plate includes two custom-engraved plaques:

• The smaller plaque typically highlights the recipient’s rank, regimental or badge number and name.
• The larger plaque offers room for up to three lines of text (70 characters each), perfect for adding heartfelt words or commemorating special achievements.

Bonnie personally works with you to ensure the engraved wording perfectly captures the occasion and its significance.

Certificate of Authenticity

“Hi Bonnie,

This is a Christmas gift for my Dad. My Dad retired as a Commander after 32 years, my Grandfather unfortunately died while in the service, my brother is currently still serving and I was medically released after 25 years as a P02ER. These are all our first ships and our ranks when we joined them. Hence my desire to try to think up something to tie our service to the RCN, the country as Grandfather, Father, Older Brother and Younger Brother.

"It was a real pleasure to present a wonderful Canadian Coast Guard plate from Bonnie Saunders of “Glass Treasures” at our management meeting in Oct 2019. We had the honour to recognized  one of our own on his retirement after 32+ years of services with the Canadian Coast Guard. There were lots of compliments on how beautiful this memorabilia was and the absolute wonderful craftsmanship that was place on making this a very special presentation. Many questions as to where the plate came from and an overabundance of comments commenting how beautiful and truly unique this was. This was a first for CCG and no one ever seen this before during a ceremony.
