The Maple Leaves Plate includes a Certificate of Authenticity that highlights its significance, both as a work of art and as a Canadian creation. The certificate features the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, emphasizing the values that shape our nation: equality, freedom, and respect for the rights of every individual. The certificate will also be personally signed by Bonnie Saunders, the artisan, ensuring its authenticity.

Each Glass Treasure by Bonnie Saunders begins as a clear glass plate and is carefully transformed into an exceptional, high-quality keepsake. The creation process involves several detailed steps, each requiring great precision. The delicate techniques used result in the brilliantly rich crackle that illuminates with light and adds depth to each distinct piece. These remarkable heirlooms are crafted individually by Bonnie, with all processes applied to the backside of the glass.

Each 8" plate is framed in a black 11" solid wood shadow box lined with luxurious red ultra-suede. Two custom engraved black plaques mounted on the frame add a personalized touch to these treasures, making them ideal for display either on the wall or on a stand. 

PERSONALIZED ENGRAVED PLAQUES FOR THE FRAME

Bonnie recommends highlighting the name of the recipient on the smaller plaque. The second, larger engraved plaque offers the opportunity to include up to three additional sentences to commemorate an occasion or share words of your choice. This adds personal significance and ensures future generations can appreciate the historical context of the plate. Each sentence can be up to 70 characters.

This is a Christmas gift for my Dad. My Dad retired as a Commander after 32 years, my Grandfather unfortunately died while in the service, my brother is currently still serving and I was medically released after 25 years as a P02ER. These are all our first ships and our ranks when we joined them. "It was a real pleasure to present a wonderful Canadian Coast Guard plate from Bonnie Saunders of “Glass Treasures” at our management meeting in Oct 2019. We had the honour to recognized  one of our own on his retirement after 32+ years of services with the Canadian Coast Guard. There were lots of compliments on how beautiful this memorabilia was and the absolute wonderful craftsmanship that was place on making this a very special presentation. Many questions as to where the plate came from and an overabundance of comments commenting how beautiful and truly unique this was. This was a first for CCG and no one ever seen this before during a ceremony.
